School Caretaker / Cleaner Vacancy

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and dedicated Caretaker / Cleaner to join our team at Vernham Dean Gillum’s C of E Primary School, a small, welcoming village school at the heart of the community.
You will play an essential role in ensuring our school is a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for all our children and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning of the school premises to a high standard.
- General caretaking duties, including basic maintenance, minor repairs, and general upkeep of the buildings and grounds.
- Security of the site (locking up and unlocking).
- Supporting the school's Christian ethos.
Details of the Role:
- Hours: 15 hours per week (term-time only, plus some hours during school holidays for deep cleaning/maintenance).
- Working Pattern: Split shift (e.g., morning and afternoon/evening). Exact timings to be agreed.
- Overtime: Occasional overtime may be available for lettings or specific projects.
What We Are Looking For:
- A proactive and well-organised approach.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively.
- A friendly and trustworthy manner, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience in cleaning or maintenance is desirable, but full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
