Job Introduction
Wallop Primary School is looking for a friendly, hard-working and practical caretaker to join our brilliant team. This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes pride in their work and likes being part of a warm, close-knit school community.
Our school is set in beautiful grounds and is a happy, welcoming place for children, staff and visitors alike. The caretaker plays a hugely important role in keeping our school safe, well cared for and running smoothly, and is very much a valued member of our kind, supportive team.
The successful candidate will be able to:
Be proactive and show great initiative, with strong organisational and time-management skills
Work flexibly to meet the varied needs of a busy school environment
Be a valued team player and an active part of our friendly school community
Take responsibility for site security as a key holder
Carry out a range of repairs, maintenance and practical jobs, ensuring lighting, heating and facilities run smoothly
Support and motivate the cleaning team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the school
Work closely with the Finance Officer and Headteacher to ensure all aspects of health and safety are fully met
Demonstrate professionalism, discretion and a strong sense of confidentiality and safeguarding at all times
This post is for 9 hours per week, ideally spread across three days, although this is open to discussion. There will also be opportunities for paid overtime at key points during the year. The role is ideally 52 weeks per year, but we are happy to talk about this and can offer flexibility for the right candidate.
