Salary Details: Grade C

Salary:  £25,186 - £26,244 (37 hours per week)

  • 20 hours per week £13,613 - £14,184 (Mon – Fri 2pm-6pm)
  • 16 hours per week £10,890 - £11,347 (Mon – Fri 2.40pm-6pm)

Hours of Work: 16 or 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year, although weekend work may be required occasionally. Work pattern to be discussed. 

 

Job/Person Summary

The Federation of Netley Abbey Infant and Junior schools are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and physically fit person to join our successful staff team. The position would suit someone with specific trade strengths in any area or range of practical skills so able to carry out small DIY jobs. 

 

You will play an important role in the smooth running of the school ensuring that the security and general appearance of the buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard.  

The successful candidate will like children, have a sense of humour, be pro-active and take pride in the school. They will work with the Site Manager to:

  • maintain the whole site, grounds and building 
  • undertake key holding duties and take responsibility for security 
  • co-ordinate and motivate a team of cleaners 
  • take on some of the cleaning duties, especially hall floors
  • manage cleaning stock 
  • supervise contractors on site 
  • undertake a range of minor repairs, maintenance and decorating 
  • work in a flexible manner for the needs of the children and the school
  • take a pride in helping to maintain that the highest standards of cleanliness and health and safety are maintained at all times and develop our beautiful school grounds and outdoor learning provision 
  • share our school vision and make a difference to the children and community we serve

 

Due to the nature of the role there will be instances of lone working and manual handling, including the lifting of large and heavy items and some working at height. An induction program will be provided and training will be available to support the successful applicant undertake their role and to comply with health and safety standards.
