Job Introduction
We are seeking to appoint a reliable, hard-working and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join the Catering Team at Testbourne Community School. Working with the School Catering Manager, you will prepare, cook and serve food for students and staff in a safe and hygienic environment. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service to students and staff at break and lunch times. Experience of working in relevant catering environment and a relevant catering qualification is desirable.

The successful candidate will:

The role will include:
- prepare food products following specified menus;
- ensure portion control and nutritional standards are met;
- ensure meals are well-presented, ready on time, and served using the correct tools;
- ensure kitchen equipment is used, cleaned and maintained correctly;
- ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times;
- operate the till when required;
- assist with cleaning and washing-up at the end of service, following guidelines and ensuing health and safety and hygiene standards are met;
- put away deliveries and assist in stock control.
