Job Introduction
Herne Junior School have a vacancy for a cleaner to join our friendly team for 2.5 hours a day, to start as soon as possible. The working hours would either be 3:30pm-6:00pm or 5:00pm-7:30pm at candidates preference, Monday to Friday.
This is a 52-week contract and during School holiday periods there is greater flexibility in the timing of when the cleaning is to be carried out. Times would be mutually agreed or as per normal term time.
The successful candidate will ideally be an experienced cleaner and must be able to work to a high standard in order to maintain a hygienic, safe and pleasant environment in which children can learn.
Duties will include:
- Emptying bins
- Cleaning allocated areas
- Washing tables and chairs
- Cleaning sinks and toilets
- Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping
- To move furniture as required to enable cleaning duties to be carried out.
- Ensuring we have a clean and welcoming school environment
- To ensure that windows are closed, doors closed/locked, and lights turned off in areas as cleaning tasks are completed.
- To attend ongoing training within normal working pattern, including Safeguarding training
