The Governors at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School wish to appoint a Deputy Headteacher to be a key part of our leadership team moving forward. The successful candidate will be a committed and practising Catholic, an excellent teacher who leads by example and possesses the skills, energy, drive and passion necessary to continue to develop and secure the very best outcomes for all our children, helping each to fulfill their potential and live out our Catholic values.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a practising Catholic, and committed to supporting the vision and ethos of our Catholic school.
  • Is able to take an active role in leadership and management of the school alongside the Headteacher, empowering colleagues and encouraging them to reach their full potential.
  • Has an outstanding and creative classroom style which will motivate and inspire colleagues in all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • Is innovative and forward thinking, leading by example.
  • Is reflective and focused on children with high expectations of their learning and behaviour.
  • Is open, honest and approachable.

Leadership role will involve:

  • Developing and promoting the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • A regular teaching commitment.
  • Monitoring and leading school improvement.
  • Coaching and mentoring of the staff team.
  • Leading a key area of provision.
