Early Years Assistant/Learning Support Assistant

Job Introduction

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and committed Early Years Assistant/Learning Support Assistant to join our excellent Foundation Stage/Learning Support Teams and make a real difference to our children. The role will involve providing individualised and flexible support with children and their learning both in and out of the classroom. The post will also involve supervising children on some lunchtimes as a lunchtime supervisory assistant. 

The post is available for either an immediate start or as soon as possible for the right candidate who will need to give notice from their current position. 

The successful applicant will: 

  • Have experience of working with children in the Foundation Stage and/or Primary School age group
  • Be committed to supporting individual children's learning
  • GCSE or Equivalent in English and Mathematics
  • Be patient, cheerful and understanding 
  • Have good interpersonal skills 
  • Have a kind and calm manner
  • Be able to play effectively and form strong relationships with children
  • Have ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team 
  • Understand and appreciate the need for confidentiality
  • Be able to clarify and explain instructions clearly
  • Adapt learning according to the needs and interests of individual pupils
  • Liaise with outside agencies alongside the class teacher and/or SENCO
