Haselworth Primary School is a small school located in the heart of Gosport. We have a caring and supportive ethos with happy children, who are eager to learn.

We are looking to appoint an experienced inspirational Early Years Learning Support Assistant, to support the work and vision of school leaders and the key stage 1 team 

We believe that a child’s first experience of learning should be filled with opportunities for them to be curious about their world, and all within a warm, family friendly and nurturing environment.

It is important for the successful candidate to show empathy, resilience, initiative, dedication to our pupils and a good sense of humour. 

 This role will include working 1:1 with children with SEND, small group intervention work and general classroom support.

 Your responsibilities will include;

  • Supporting children’s learning and development through play, exploration, and adult-led activities. 
  • Encouraging social skills, independence, and confidence in young learners. 
  • Helping to establish clear routines that create a calm and supportive environment.
  • Planning and delivering activities that promote the EYFS curriculum, in collaboration with the Teacher and in line with the ethos and approach of the classroom. 
  • Observing, recording, and contributing to the assessment of children’s progress.
  • Supporting children with additional needs where required. 
  • Assisting with personal care and ensuring children’s well-being at all time. 
  • Have a good understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.

What we are looking for someone with:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (desired but not essential)
  • Experience of working in an early years setting. 
  • A commitment to safeguarding children
  • A genuine love for working with young children and supporting their development.  
  • A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach, with a good sense of humour
  • A clear understanding of the EYFS framework and child development. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. 
  • Good English, Maths and IT skills.
