About Us: Oak Lodge School is dedicated to providing a safe, enjoyable, and caring learning environment for 11-16 year olds with a range of Special Educational Needs. We pride ourselves on helping pupils develop essential life skills and preparing them for adulthood.
The Role: We are seeking an experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) teacher to join our team. You will work closely with the class team and Pastoral Department to support the needs of our students. With small classes of 7 to 12 well-mannered pupils, you will form strong, nurturing relationships and understand the needs of each student, positively impacting their achievements and self-esteem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage pupils who find learning in class difficult.
- Create bespoke timetables tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Ensure pupils engage with their learning in a way that is appropriate to their needs.
- Liaise with teaching staff to ensure the level of work provided is suitable.
- Implement additional scaffolding to ensure pupil success.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in teaching pupils with SEMH needs.
- Strong understanding of the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Ability to form nurturing relationships and positively impact pupils' self-esteem.
- Commitment to providing a safe and caring learning environment.
