Governance Professional (Clerk to Trustees board)

(Scale D/E , £27,780- £36,369) 22 hours per week, 43 weeks per year (term time plus 4 weeks)

Hours to be worked flexibly to accommodate evening meetings

 

 

Following the retirement of the current post holder, we have a vacancy for an experienced Governance professional to work in a highly rewarding role for a successful Academy school. 

 

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and dedicated Governance Professional to support effective governance across our academy. This is a vital role at the heart of our school community, ensuring our trustee board is well-informed, compliant, and equipped to make strategic decisions that enable all pupils to thrive.

 

At this crucial time for the education sector, we are looking for either a fully accredited Governance professional or someone prepared to work towards the qualification

The main responsibilities will include:

·         Provide advice on compliance pertaining to governance of the College

·         Effective administration of meetings

·         Complaints, exclusion reviews, appeals and grievance panels

·         Management of information and memberships as required

 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role in education or can demonstrate required skills and experience relating to this role in a relevant related business.

Flexibility around hours is key, with currently Trustees meetings scheduled for Monday evenings.

 

Wyvern is a 11-16 mixed comprehensive school, serving the communities of Fair Oak, Horton Heath, Bishopstoke, Durley and Upham and the surrounding area. Increasingly, families from outside the catchment area are seeking Wyvern places for their children.

The college had its latest Ofsted inspection in December 2023. The college was judged to be a strongly “Good” school. The report validated our own assessment of the college – there were no surprises! It described Wyvern well:
