HLTA Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Job Introduction

Hiltingbury Junior School is a dynamic and forward-thinking learning community. We are seeking a passionate HLTA to join our supportive teaching team from the 1st September. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience or aspiring to gain the HLTA qualification to make a difference in our children’s lives. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children's learning and development. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver planned lessons and provide whole-class cover daily

  • Deliver high quality support in the classroom

  • Promote engagement, motivation, and positive behaviour in the classroom.

  • Work closely with the teaching teams to monitor children’s progress and provide feedback

  • Support children with diverse needs, ensuring every child is given the opportunity to succeed


Ideal candidate:

  • Shows a passion for teaching and learning and supporting all children to achieve their best;

  • Demonstrates positivity, motivation and drive;

  • Has high expectations of achievement and behaviour for all children;

  • Is a team player with excellent communication skills;

  • Is reflective and Is able to work using their own initiative, as well as proactively as part of a team;

  • Has high aspirations for themselves and others; 

  • Is committed to safeguarding and the welfare and wellbeing of the school community
