Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Are you passionate about making a real difference in early years education? Denmead Infant School is seeking a dedicated HLTA to join our supportive team. You will have opportunities to take whole-class responsibility across EYFS, Year 1, and Year 2, working closely with teachers to foster independence and support all children’s learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead whole-class teaching (PPA and absence cover) across EYFS, Year 1, and Year 2 as directed.
- Use specialist strategies to support disadvantaged and SEND pupils, promoting independence and resilience.
- Understand behaviour as communication and contribute to maintaining a calm, positive learning environment.
- Maintain high expectations and provide tailored support to help every child succeed.
- Collaborate closely with staff to uphold our inclusive ethos and commitment to pupil progress.
Qualifications and Experience
- HLTA qualification essential.
- Experience supporting early years and Key Stage 1 children.
- Skilled in supporting disadvantaged pupils and behaviour management.
- Ability to lead engaging, well-structured learning activities with whole-class responsibility.
- English and Maths qualifications at GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent).

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
