Job Introduction
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive and forward-thinking Learning Support team.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with students with a range of special educational needs and/or additional needs, with experience supporting reading and phonics particularly desirable.
You will be a highly motivated and creative practitioner who is passionate about supporting the whole child and ensuring that every student is given the opportunity to thrive. Working alongside teaching staff, you will provide targeted support within the classroom and take responsibility for delivering a range of small-group interventions, including programmes to develop reading, spelling, literacy and social skills.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a minimum of two years' relevant experience in a teaching, learning or child-support environment.
- Has a strong understanding of how to support students with additional needs.
- Can deliver engaging, purposeful and appropriately differentiated interventions.
- Is confident supporting the development of reading, phonics and literacy skills.
- Builds positive, trusting relationships with students.
- Is creative, adaptable and committed to achieving the best outcomes for every young person.
- Works effectively as part of a wider team and is keen to contribute to the continued development of SEND provision.
