For an exceptional candidate, Cantell School is prepared to offer a generous relocation package.
Full Time, Permanent
Start date: September 2026
Application Deadline: 8th May 2026
Cantell School is proud to be a heavily oversubscribed, inclusive comprehensive school with a student intake that reflects a wonderfully diverse and vibrant local community. Our fundamental mission is to provide an exceptional learning experience for every student so that they may lead a happy and successful life now and in the future.
In March 2024, we were judged outstanding in all areas by Ofsted. Whilst we are honoured to receive such an accolade, we must be clear that this does not define us. What makes us stand out in the crowd is the strength of relationships between our diverse student and staff body. It is one of the reasons why Cantell is a great place for students to learn and staff to work!
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and imaginative practitioner to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will continue to build on our success, showing the drive and determination for continuing school improvement and raising attainment.
The post provides an excellent opportunity to develop your career within an attractive and well-resourced working environment supported by a talented and dedicated team of staff,
and would be suitable for an exceptional teacher looking to move into middle leadership or an experienced subject leader. A teacher with Technology and Resistant Materials as a specialism is advantageous.
"After eight wonderful years at Cantell School, retiring from my role as Head of Design & Technology fills me with gratitude and pride. It has been a true privilege to work alongside such dedicated and passionate staff, and to teach committed students whose motivation to learn inspires me every day. As a department, we are fortunate to be well-resourced and supported by a team of outstanding technicians who work tirelessly to enable both staff and students to thrive. It is a wonderful environment to work in, and I wish the new Head of Department every success in taking this fantastic team forward"
