Due to our former HLTA moving out of area, we now have a vacancy to recruit a new HLTA to our team.
Are you just finishing your teacher qualification but would like further experience in the classroom before taking on a full-time teaching position?
Are you returning to teaching and would like some current experience before moving to a full-time classroom role?
Or are you an experienced HLTA looking for a change in school?
We are looking to appoint an HLTA to our kind, supportive and dedicated staff team. The role will involve covering our teachers Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time, Leadership release and absence cover across our whole primary school. You will be delivering lessons planned under the professional direction of a qualified teacher. Your timetable will be exciting and varied with time for whole class teaching alongside time to implement interventions for small groups.
Redlands Primary is a successful, friendly school within a supportive community. We are a mid-sized primary school – 315 pupils, which is extremely popular in the area.
We have 11 classes at Redlands which includes 2 discrete Year R classes, with the rest of the school being in mixed year groups - 1 /2, 3 /4, 5/6. We are proud of our pupils’ passion for reading and encourage all pupils and staff to see themselves as lifelong learners. Our pupils talk animatedly about the wider curriculum and leadership opportunities they have, including our music provision, playing in the band, visits to forest school in year R and a very active school council. We are an inclusive school, working hard to ensure children from ALL backgrounds achieve to their highest potential.
What are we looking for?
- A member of staff who has the ability to independently deliver lessons to the whole class which have been planned by the class teacher.
- An adaptable member of our team willing to support our vision that ALL children are able to progress in their learning socially and academically.
- A member of staff who will support colleagues to achieve the best for ALL children especially those with a Special Educational Need.
- Someone who is able to work with a range of pupils, parents and colleagues taking into account the needs of all groups.
- A colleague who can demonstrate good subject knowledge in English and Maths (must hold GCSE or equivalent passes at Grade c/Level 4 or above).
- A member of staff who has experience in a range of interventions and a skillset to bring to Redlands.
- Someone who understands that all behaviours communicate a message and has the time and patience to help children problem solve.
- A colleague willing to support our pupils to have a safe and happy lunchtime.
- A patient, hardworking, resilient team player, willing to have fun!
