Home School Link Worker

Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone who is passionate about supporting children and families to join our strong team across two good, federated schools – Holbrook Primary School and Bedenham Primary School.

We are a friendly and welcoming Federation looking to appoint a motivated, well-organised and enthusiastic Home School Link Worker (HSLW). The successful candidate will work closely with pupils and families, providing practical and emotional support to help overcome barriers to attendance, wellbeing and engagement with school.

The role has a strong focus on preventative and early intervention and includes personalised family support, Early Help, home visits and working closely with school staff and external professionals. The postholder will also fulfil the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL). Full details of the role can be found in the attached Job Description and DDSL appendix. 

Ideally, you will have experience of working with children and families, be familiar with the primary school environment and safeguarding, and have a relevant qualification or relevant experience.

We are looking for an HSLW who:

  • has outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, and manages their time effectively
  • is passionate about making a positive difference for children and families 
  • can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents and carers 
  • has a high level of emotional resilience and emotional intelligence 
  • demonstrates a high level of confidentiality and professionalism 
  • has substantial experience of working with children and families in an educational, social care or health setting 
  • is confident working collaboratively with school staff and external professionals.
