The Westgate School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed House Leader & Education Support Mentor to join our team. Working closely with Year Leaders, families and external agencies, you will provide targeted support that enables pupils to overcome barriers to learning, develop resilience and confidence.

The role focuses on removing barriers to learning, promoting high expectations for attendance, punctuality, behaviour and personal development, and ensuring that pupils receive timely support to unlock their potential.

The Westgate School is the lead school for the Winchester Schools Training Alliance (WSTA), working with 21 other schools in the Winchester district to train the next generation of teachers. Support colleagues employed by The Westgate School wanting to go on to apply for the WSTA training programme will automatically be offered an interview providing the course requirements are met.

Key skills/knowledge:

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, a genuine commitment to inclusion, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
