About the Role
As our ICT Technician & Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school’s ICT systems to ensure curriculum and administrative needs are met. You will work closely with teaching and office staff to provide technical and administrative assistance. Your responsibilities will include maintaining hardware and software, and helping to integrate ICT into both teaching and school operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the school’s ICT infrastructure, including networks, devices, and software liaising with our IT support company Agile ICT as needed.
- Provide first-line technical support to staff and pupils.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware such as PCs, projectors, laptops, iPads, and interactive whiteboards.
- Support staff in the use of ICT during lessons and provide training where needed.
- Manage user accounts and system security.
- Maintain inventories and order consumables.
- Manage and update the school website, ensuring content is accurate, current, and compliant.
- Act as the school’s Arbor expert (our Management Information System), supporting staff with attendance, reporting, and data management.
- Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Leads to monitor internet safety.
- Work as part of the school office team assisting with administrative tasks as required.
- Adhere to all school policies specific to the role including Safeguarding, Health & Safety and GDPR.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience with ICT networks, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
- Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft – System Administrator, Word/Excel/PowerPoint
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Organised, reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of Arbor MIS and website content management systems.
