KS1 Teacher - Temporary

Job Introduction

Chawton CE Primary School is a small rural school located in the beautiful village of Chawton, just outside Alton. We have a strong Christian ethos and special family atmosphere that infiltrates into all that we do in our school. We are looking to appoint an excellent, happy and highly motivated primary teaching assistant to join our incredible school. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive, friendly, and innovative team that has children at its centre. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and creative teacher to join our team for the 2026 spring and summer term teaching in our mixed year 1 and 2 KS1 class.


The successful candidate will: 

  • Hold Qualified teacher status with recent experience as the substantive teacher within a Key Stage One class. 
  • A sound knowledge of the Key Stage One National Curriculum and how to plan differentiated sequences of learning. 
  • Excellent teaching ability, high expectations of all children and a track record of teaching which is consistently good with outstanding features or better. 
  • Able to make accurate assessments and use assessment for learning effectively to personalise learning experiences for children. 
  • A proven track record of achieving excellent outcomes for children. 
  • Able to show initiative, work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Be committed to safeguarding and confidently of all students  
  • Able to maintain excellent relationships with children, colleagues and parents. 
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills. 
  • Experience of using the classroom environment including displays to support, facilitate and extend children’s learning. 
  • Flexible and adaptable. 
  • Reflective, open minded and self-motivated. 
  • Shows a commitment to their own professional development through professional development opportunities and further study. 
  • A high standard of spoken and written English.
