Haselworth Primary School is a small school located in the heart of Gosport. We have a caring and supportive ethos with happy children, who are eager to learn.
Are you passionate about education and ready to bring your experience and enthusiasm to a nurturing and well-established school community? We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic LSA to support our children in all aspects of their education. Working closely with the class teacher, you will support both individuals and groups in all aspects of the curriculum. Developing strong relationships with our pupils is essential and helps them to flourish socially and academically.
It is important for the successful candidate to show empathy, resilience, initiative, dedication to our pupils and a good sense of humour.
This role will include working 1:1 with children with SEND, small group intervention work and general classroom support.
Your responsibilities will include;
- Supporting children’s learning and development
- Encouraging social skills, independence, and confidence in young learners.
- Helping to establish clear routines that create a calm and supportive environment.
- Planning and delivering activities that promote the curriculum, in collaboration with the Teacher and in line with the ethos and approach of the classroom.
- Observing, recording, and contributing to the assessment of children’s progress.
- Supporting children with additional needs where required.
- Having a good understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.

- Previous experience of working with children on a 1:1 basis

- A commitment to safeguarding children
- A genuine love for working with children and supporting their development.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good English, Maths and IT skills.
