(Ofsted 2022)
We have a strong leadership team and a well-motivated staff. We are very supportive and encouraging of each other. I am proud of our school and the team who work so hard to create an exciting and child-centred learning environment for our pupils. Our children enter school broadly in line with pupils nationally and make excellent progress as they move through school. Our pupils come from a broad and mixed catchment. We pride ourselves on inclusion, equality and excellent standards for all.
We encourage pupils to be intrinsically motivated and we use the latest pedagogical research to engage and support them to make the best possible progress and be included in the mainstream classroom as much as possible.
Our vision ‘From loving roots, we are growing in the forest’ underpins policy and practice at all levels, and we describe our school as a “Loving school” where we hold the highest expectations for all and encourage every adult and child to strive to be the best they can be. Our motto “Growing in the Forest” recognises that we all grow in many ways, physically, emotionally, academically and spiritually.
We work hard to support the well-being of our staff and to reduce workload wherever we can. We believe in creating engaging, exciting learning sessions built upon a relational approach where pupils feel safe to try and take appropriate risks with their learning.
A talented and well-trained team of teaching assistants play a vital role in learning and teaching and we have reviewed our curriculum to ensure that it is robust, progressive and well sequenced.
