Learning Coach - Student Support

Job Introduction

Yateley School are seeking to appoint a Learning Coach to join their friendly, experienced team supporting teaching staff in the education, care, and welfare of students with learning difficulties. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Student Support team, helping our students become independent, capable but supported learners. 

You will be working term time only, for 39 weeks of the year. The school day is 8.45am-3.10pm and you would commit to 3-5 days per week. 

Previous experience is desirable although not essential, but you will need to have patience, understanding and the flexibility to undertake a variety of tasks

The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following: -

  • Empathy with pupils and be sympathetic to their needs
  • Ability to work cohesively with a variety of stakeholders, including parents, teaching staff and the students.
  • Capability to keep accurate records of meetings and interactions with various stakeholders.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to plan your day around the bespoke needs of the students. 
  • Desire to support students with their learning and help identify when further interventions are required.
  • Relevant experience within a school or learning support environment would be desirable 
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
  • Excellent communicator, professionally discrete and have well developed interpersonal skills
  • The ability to take direction but also be able to use their initiative when required
  • As a department we are always looking to train and develop our team, in this instance additional training such as ELSA would be beneficial.
