Job Introduction
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our excellent Learning Support Team and make a real difference to our children. The role will involve providing individualised and flexible support with children and their learning both in and out of the classroom with groups and individual children when appropriate. The post will also involve supervising children on some lunchtimes as a lunchtime supervisory assistant. We would be interested in hearing from existing support staff with an ELSA qualification, although this is not a requirement for the role.
Start date – September 1st 2025
The successful applicant will:
- Have experience of working with children in the Primary School age group
- Be committed to supporting individual children's learning
- GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Mathematics
- Be patient, cheerful and understanding
- Have good interpersonal skills
- Have a kind and calm manner
- Be able to play effectively and form strong relationships with children
- Have ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team
- Understand and appreciate the need for confidentiality
- Be able to clarify and explain instructions clearly
- Adapt learning according to the needs and interests of individual pupils
- Liaise with outside agencies alongside the class teacher and/or SENCO
