Learning Support Assistant (Early Years - Year R)

At Overton CE Primary School, we believe that every child deserves the very best start to their education. Our Reception children are curious, enthusiastic and full of potential, and we are seeking a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Early Years team and help them flourish during this crucial stage of their development.
This role will be based initially within our Reception (Year R) class, working alongside an experienced and supportive team to provide a nurturing, stimulating and engaging learning environment where children feel happy, safe and ready to learn. Whilst the post is initially based in Reception, we value the development of our support staff and there may be opportunities in future years to work across different year groups and key stages within the school, broadening experience and supporting professional growth.
We are looking for someone who shares our passion for early childhood education and understands the importance of building positive relationships, encouraging independence and supporting every child to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will:
- Be warm, patient and nurturing, with a genuine commitment to supporting young children.
- Enjoy working with children and be passionate about helping them develop socially, emotionally and academically.
- Work effectively as part of a team under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo.
- Support children through play-based learning and structured activities both indoors and outdoors.
- Deliver targeted interventions and provide individual or small-group support where required.
- Be willing to undertake relevant training and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute positively to the caring and inclusive ethos of our school.
- Support children with personal and intimate care, where required, in a respectful and dignified manner.

Contract Details
Hours: 8:15am – 3:25pm 5 days per week, term time only
