Learning Support Assistant / Keyworker

We are seeking to recruit a dedicated, passionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant / Keyworker to join our committed team.

This rewarding role involves supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Cognition and Learning difficulties, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other significant special educational needs. The successful candidate will provide flexible support across the school, which may include working alongside several children within a class, delivering small-group support, or providing intensive one-to-one support for an individual child.

Experience of supporting children, young people or adults with additional needs, whether in a professional or personal capacity, would be advantageous.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with children and has a patient, caring and nurturing nature.
  • Communicates effectively and works positively as part of a team.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and acts as an excellent role model.
  • Is motivated, adaptable and sensitive to the developmental needs of children.
  • Has the resilience to respond positively to challenging situations and bounce back after difficult days.
  • Has a strong moral purpose and is committed to championing the needs of children.
  • Is a reflective practitioner who can balance consistency with flexibility.
  • Has experience supporting children or young people with Cognition and Learning needs, SEMH needs, ASC and/or other additional needs.
  • Is Team Teach trained or willing to undertake this training.
  • Can communicate effectively with teachers, senior leaders, parents and external professionals.
  • Is resourceful, intuitive and proactive in finding solutions.
  • Holds GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
