Job/Person Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to join a highly successful and respected support team.  This is a crucial teaching and learning role within our support staff school community.  

The ideal candidate should demonstrate patience, professionalism and a passion for working with and assisting young people to learn.  If you are an imaginative and energetic person and want to make a difference to the life-chances of all students in your care, then this could be the position for you.

The role may include:

  • Working in classrooms and facilitating learning with a number of students
  • Working one to one with identified students on learning tasks
  • Working closely with the outreach team
  • Supporting administration 
  • Assisting on trips and internal school-events

We are looking for versatile people interested in education and supporting the development of young people.  

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A minimum of GCSE maths and English at either a Grade 4 or C - essential
  • Ability to maintain accurate pupil records and complete tasks in a timely manner - essential
  • Experience of working as part of a small team - essential
  • Experience of working in an educational environment – essential

 Working conditions:

  • Lap top and desk top use
  • Working with children 11-16 years
  • Working with children and young people who have additional needs
  • Potential exposure to verbal abuse and aggression
  • Potential exposure to risk taking behaviour
