 We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, resilient and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our infant school community. This is an exciting opportunity to join a class team to help our children thrive emotionally, socially and academically in a nurturing environment.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Build warm, trusting relationships that help children feel happy and secure
  • Model respect, kindness and fairness in every interaction
  • Use a playful approach to support learning and engagement
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for children with a range of social, emotional and communication needs
  • Help pupils regulate their emotions using positive behaviour strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCo and external professionals
  • Support personal care needs when required
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and inspiring classroom environment

This role is ideal for someone who is calm, compassionate and eager to join a team to make each day the best it can be for every child.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young children in a school, nursery, voluntary or similar setting
  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills, including GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Enjoys working as part of a team while also being able to use their own initiative
  • Remains calm, patient and positive in challenging situations
  • Builds strong relationships with children, colleagues and families
  • Is enthusiastic about learning and developing professionally
  • Brings energy, enthusiasm and positivity to the classroom
  • Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and ensuring the very best outcomes for every child

Experience supporting children with SEND, communication difficulties or social and emotional needs would be advantageous, although full training and support will be provided.
