Job Introduction
We are looking to appoint a flexible, enthusiastic person to join our happy team. Everyone who visits Wherwell comments on the friendly ethos of the school and we can offer you full support in your role and opportunities for training and further development. The position is fixed term, with the likely potential to become a permanent contract. The role is likely to involve time working with a child with Downs Syndrome in Year R, so experience of this is desirable but not essential. Time will also be spent supporting groups within the classroom as well as a 30 minute lunch duty each day.
We are looking for someone who: -
- Is effective in building positive relationships with children and staff.
- Ideally has some prior experience of working with children with additional needs.
- Wants to learn through feedback and reflective practise.
- Is a team player.
- Can use their initiative and adapt their approach to skilfully keep the child/ children engaged and learning.
- Has good Literacy and Numeracy skills.
- Has good communication, interpersonal skills with both adults and children
- understands safeguarding and confidentiality procedures
