What does a typical day look like?

As a valued LSA at Merton Junior School, you will:

  • Meet and greet pupils each morning, helping them transition positively from home to school;
  • Ensure the children feel safe, happy, and cared for throughout the day;
  • Follow the child/ren’s Three Point Behaviour Plan, ensuring consistent support from all staff;
  • Adapt lesson plans provided by the teacher to meet the individual needs of the pupil(s) in your care;
  • Communicate with parents/carers at the end of the day, building strong, supportive relationships;
  • Provide specialist care where required;
  • Support during lunchtimes, encouraging positive behaviour in the hall and on the playground;
  • Above all, you’ll be making a real difference in the lives of our children.

Hours are typically 8:30am - 3:30pm, however we are happy to offer more hours to the successful applicant so that they can run after school clubs.
