Contract/Hours: Fixed Term Contract, Part-time 

Salary Details: Grade B (£24,027 - £24,348 FTE) or C (£24,405 - £25,430 FTE) dependent on experience 

Hours of Work: 8.45 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. Monday to Friday

Heatherside Infant School are looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and caring 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly team.

We are looking for an LSA who embodies all of these attributes and can foster them in others. 

We are currently seeking to appoint a suitably qualified / experienced LSA to work for 16.25 hours per week in a KS1 class on a 1:1 basis or with a small group. We are seeking an excellent practitioner who is flexible, adaptable and able to show high levels of initiative and attention to detail. The successful candidates will have a good standard of English and Mathematics.  Having qualifications or training related to learning support and knowledge of special educational needs, particularly ASD, will be an advantage but is not essential, and training will be available as needed. You will be part of a supportive classroom team and the available post will be on fixed term contract for this academic year. 

The successful candidate will be:

  • Calm and unflappable, with a good sense of humour
  • Committed to improving outcomes for all children
  • Able to plan some one-to-one activities and adapt classroom tasks, following guidance from the SENDCo and class teacher
  • An excellent team player who is able to work effectively with all staff
  • Well-organised and able to appreciate that there is a multi-role aspect to this post which will require excellent flexibility and adaptability 
  • Able to work independently, showing initiative and managing their own time effectively
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic
  • Willing to contribute to the wider life of the school
