Job/Person Summary

We are seeking to appoint an excellent, committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our committed team, who is able to support and contribute to our high expectations of learning and behaviour. Learning Support Assistants at Weeke are highly valued and play a key role in ensuring our children’s success. You will work under the guidance and planning of the class teacher and SENCO supporting children in their learning within the classroom in small groups and 1:1 support.
This role includes a 1-hour role of Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant, where you will support our children in the dining hall and outside.
We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will:
- Enthuse and inspire children to learn
- Have a good understanding of child development and learning
- Be committed to working with children, responding to their needs intuitively and sensitively
- Have high expectations and a calm, positive attitude
- Be an excellent team player and be able to work independently and with initiative
- Be prepared to share expertise and learn from others
- Be professional, organised, patient and understanding
- Have GCSE Grade C English and maths or equivalent
- Understand confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
Essential requirements for this post include:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to relate well to children, parents and staff
