Job Introduction
The post is initially offered on a fixed term contract with the possibility of being extended in the future. The successful candidate will provide support for our students who are all oral communicators that access the full curriculum. You will support our students in class and be responsible for adapting the curriculum to support student learning outside of the classroom when required. Good levels of numeracy and literacy are required (GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths).
Previous school experience and specialist qualifications are not essential, as it is more important for the successful candidate to show empathy, resilience, initiative, dedication to our students, and a good sense of humour. Training and guidance will be provided. Signing is not required for this post, but is desirable, support will be given to acquire further BSL skills for interested candidates.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Day to day:
- In-class 1:1 support to:
Reinforce instructions, vocabulary, and new concepts
Monitor understanding and engagement
Act as a note-taker
- Support and troubleshooting basic hearing equipment needs (training provided)
- Work with Resource Base staff to plan out of lesson learning opportunities for students to overlearn lesson content
- Provide support for students during exam periods (training provided)
- Support students in assemblies
- Participate in wider school trips e.g. Personal Development/Culture Capital days
- Support students when Deaf Instructors deliver a Deaf curriculum
- Occasionally, liaise with parents/carers to ensure issues with students are communicated/received.
- If required, attend student Annual Reviews of EHCPs
