Job Introduction

Librarian - 20 hours per week, 10.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks). Grade B – Step 1 Actual Annual Salary £11,608.84 (which is equivalent to a full-time salary of £25,614).

 

As part of our commitment to staff wellbeing RAISE Education Trust is trialling a two week half term break 19th to 30th October 2026. Following this trial, should the Trust revert back to a one-week October half term break from 2027 the contractual working weeks would increase to 39 weeks and the salary would increase accordingly.

 

Deer Park School is a new state of the art seven-form secondary school which opened in September 2021. We are part of the RAISE Education Trust which comprises of Deer Park Secondary School, Wildern Secondary School and Boorley Park Primary School. We will have a PAN of 1050 when full.

About the Role:

In this exciting role, you will be a champion for literacy, playing a pivotal role in:

  • Assist both staff and students with enquiries.
  • Promote the Learning Resource Centre to both staff and students.
  • Facilitate the use of ICT and technology based in the Resource Centre and promote the use of all available technologies including the internet.
  • Hold a First Aid certificate and support/deputise for First Aid room as necessary.
  • To work the Reception desk, and ensure that loan and reference collections are effectively managed.
  • Input data into the library catalogue.
  • Support the English Curriculum Lead with promoting the Learning Resources Centre to further encourage and develop whole class use and individual pupil use.
  • In consultation with the English Curriculum Lead, create a programme of events such as reading groups and book clubs.
