We are looking to appoint confident, caring and friendly people to join our team of Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants. The successful candidates will help to ensure our children have a happy and safe lunchtime every day at school.
The successful candidate will:
- Oversee the care, safety, welfare and supervision of children during the lunch break, in the playground, dining hall and other areas, ensuring that the whole lunchtime experience is a positive as possible for the children.
- Be a team player who can help make the lunchtime experience fun and enjoyable for all children.
- Be able to work well with others, under guidance, and show own initiative.
- Interact positively and establish good relationships with all children and colleagues.
- Be a good communicator.
- Have an understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
- Be reliable and punctual.
Duties include:
- Supervision of children in the dining hall and playground, so they remain safe and well behaved.
- Working as part of a team to initiate, develop and deliver a range of inclusive and stimulating indoor and outdoor play opportunities for all children
- Promoting and supporting a whole school approach to inclusive play that embraces the values and behaviour systems at St James’ School
- Attending to minor accidents and administration of first aid
- Helping younger pupils at the servery counter and with the proper use of cutlery, helping them cut up their food when necessary
- Cleaning and putting away tables and chairs as well as sweeping the floor once the children have finished eating
The successful candidate will work 12pm - 1pm Monday to Friday, term time only (39 weeks per year). We are also interested to receive applications from candidates who are available to work fewer than 5 days per week.
