Miss Polly’s, The Hurst Nursery (Employed by Hampshire County Council).
Role- Nursery Manager 37 hours per week 52 weeks per year (negotiable for the right candidate)
A minimum of 5 years Nursery experience and a Level 3 childcare qualification is essential for this role. Level 4 childcare qualification or above is desirable, however further training would be offered for the right candidate. One year’s Nursery management experience is required for this position. (e.g., Deputy Nursery Manager or Room Leader). Proven experience of managing staff, excellent knowledge of child development and early years foundation stage is essential for this role.
We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership skills who will build on the great foundation already in place and drive the Nursery forward. Candidates must have great communication skills, reliability and able to work using their own initiative, further personal specifications can be found in the job description.
Miss Polly’s is a thriving 47 place Nursery for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. We have 2 rooms, a baby room and a preschool room as well as a large garden. The Nursery manager would be responsible for 19 members of part and full-time staff, supported in their role by 3 room coordinators. The Nursery is based in the grounds of The Hurst Secondary School which it has strong links with. The Nursery Manager works alongside and receive support from the Headteacher, Business Manager, Communications Manager, and a team of site staff from the school.
