Job Introduction
Kingsclere Preschool are looking for an experienced Preschool Manager to be responsible for the day to day running of the Preschool, working daily alongside the Deputy Manager and other staff to lead the team in providing a safe, high quality education and standard of care for young children.
This is a term time only, full time position. Applicants will be required to work full days, both morning and afternoon sessions.

Essential Criteria:
-Level 3 or above in Early Years Education or equivalent practice
-Previous experience of working with young children
-Previous leadership experience
-Paediatric First Aid certification
-Commitment to young children and families
-Friendly and flexible approach to work
-Excellent working knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted statutory guidance.
An enhanced DBS check will be required by all applicants.
Main Responsibilities:
-To deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 2-4 years
-To manage the day-to-day activities of the setting
-To work closely with the preschool deputy manager to form a strong managerial team with shared responsibilities
-To ensure that the preschool is a safe environment for children, staff and others
-To develop strong relationships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s progress
-To manage other staff within the preschool.
-To be the Nominated Individual for Ofsted.
Main Activities:
-Overall day to day management responsibility for the preschool including staff hours, ratios, and office time
-To be responsible for the efficient running of the preschool and overall delivery of a high quality service
-To ensure that the preschool provides a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment
-To ensure that the preschool plans an appropriate play-based EYFS curriculum that enables children to make individual progress
-To ensure the preschool meets Ofsted requirements at all times
-To ensure all staff understand and work to preschool policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
-Take responsibility for planning, ensuring that each child is working towards the early learning goals
-To organise and participate in the key person system
-To conduct staff appraisals and supervisions as appropriate, to support staff in their roles, and to identify staff training needs
-To ensure all records are properly and securely maintained and stored
-To liaise closely with parents and carers, informing them about the preschool and its curriculum, exchanging information about their child’s development, and encouraging their involvement
-To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the preschool’s aims and objectives.
