We are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated current or aspiring SENCO to lead SEND provision within our secondary school, which has high levels of SEND and a well-established, skilled SEND department.

This is a strategic role within a school that prioritises inclusion and invests significantly in support for students with additional needs. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced SEND Manager, specialist staff, and established transition groups at Key Stage 3, allowing the SENCO to focus on strategic oversight, quality assurance, and whole school impact.
As SENCO, you will:
- Lead statutory processes, including EHCPs, annual reviews, and compliance with the SEND Code of Practice, supported by the SEND Manager.
- Work closely with SLT to shape inclusive practice and contribute to school improvement.
- Oversee and quality assure a graduated approach to SEND support.
- Support staff to deliver inclusive, adaptive teaching across all subjects
- Continue to build strong, professional relationships with parents, the Local Authority, and multi agency partners
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status
- The National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete)
- Significant experience in supporting a high level and complex SEND in a secondary setting
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCP processes, and statutory responsibilities
- The ability to lead strategically and work collaboratively across teams
- A commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
