Following the retirement of our much‑valued Admin Officer after many years of dedicated service, we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to appoint a Business Manager to join our friendly school community.

As a new primary school (having merged with the infants in January), with the potential development of an SEN unit, this is a pivotal role supporting both our current operations and our future strategic growth.

The Role

The Business Manager will play a key role in the strategic and operational leadership of the school.  You will work closely alongside the Headteacher and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for leading and managing a wide range of business functions, including:

  • Budget and financial management
  • Human resources and personnel matters
  • Premises management
  • Health and safety compliance
  • Contracted services
  • Administrative and operational systems
  • Effective communication across the school community

The Person

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated and professional individual who:

  • Has proven experience in financial management and business operations
  • Is highly organised, efficient and able to prioritise effectively
  • Can provide strong leadership of business operations and systems
  • Has experience managing contracts and external providers
  • Can lead, support and develop a team of administrative and site staff
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintains discretion and confidentiality at all times

  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative and successful team
  • Show initiative, flexibility and a solution‑focused approach
  • Demonstrate resilience, determination and professionalism
