Senior Administration Assistant (SEND Focus)

Lanterns Nursery School is seeking a Senior Administration Assistant to join our dedicated team, supporting our work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a key role in ensuring our SEND provision runs smoothly, efficiently, and with the highest standards of care and professionalism.

About Us

Lanterns Nursery School is a Hampshire maintained nursery offering inclusive early years education for children aged 8 months to 5 years. We are proud to host 36 resourced SEND places and work closely with families and professionals to support every child’s unique journey.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Maintaining the SEND register and individual pupil records 

  • Coordinating review meetings and referrals to external agencies 

  • Managing communication and appointments with professionals 

  • Supporting the SEND team with electronic systems and documentation 

  • Preparing agendas and taking minutes for multi-disciplinary meetings 

  • Assisting with Individual Health Care Plans and SEND summaries 

  • Using IT and AI tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency 

  • Supporting general school administration as needed

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has proven experience in administration, ideally in education or SEND 

  • Is confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and digital tools 

  • Is open to using AI and electronic systems to enhance working practices 

  • Has excellent organisational and communication skills 

  • Can manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion 

  • Is proactive, flexible, and enjoys working as part of a team 

  • Has a positive attitude and a commitment to inclusive education
