The Role

We are seeking to appoint a hardworking, efficient and well-organised Senior Administrative Officer to join and lead our friendly school office team. This is a pivotal role, central to the effective day-to-day running, communication and administration of our busy school.

This is a varied and rewarding position, offering an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to make a significant contribution to the life of our school.

Experience of working in a school office is highly desirable; however, candidates with the appropriate skills, experience and personal qualities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and manage a small office team, providing high-quality administrative support
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school office at all times
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team
  • Play a key role in school communications and daily operations
  • Support the organisation of whole-school community events
  • Be committed to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all children

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work with high levels of accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail
  • Be confident, resourceful and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Be flexible, adaptable and able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines
  • Develop positive working relationships, working collaboratively with colleagues
  • Have excellent written skills and good numeracy skills
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Ideally have experience using school-based systems such as Arbor and school budgeting software
