Job Introduction
We are seeking to appoint an energetic, skilled and compassionate Special Needs Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in Key Stage 1 with a high level of need. The successful candidate will be passionate about enabling children — including those with complex needs — to thrive both academically and emotionally within school.
Although we are a large three-form entry primary school, we pride ourselves on our friendly team spirit and positive professional culture. We benefit from incredible facilities and our ‘school within a garden’ ethos is fully embedded within our curriculum, particularly in supporting pupils with additional needs.
This role requires an experienced SNA who has a strong understanding of supporting pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs and behaviour. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a range of effective strategies to support regulation, promote independence, and help pupils access learning in a safe, nurturing and structured way.
While experience in a similar role is highly desirable, applications will also be considered from candidates with strong alternative career backgrounds who can clearly demonstrate relevant transferable skills, particularly in working with children with additional or complex needs.
