Special Needs Learning Support Assistant

Job Introduction

We are looking for a special person to join our friendly team. The role is to support learning in our Resourced Provision, working with children with autism - Monday to Friday 8.15am to 3.30pm with 40 minutes for lunch.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an ability to nurture children in accordance with their individual emotional, social and learning needs.  

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in supporting children with special educational needs or who has skills training that will enable them to fulfil the role - this is desirable but not essential.
  • Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Has good literacy, numeracy and IT skills: at least Grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English.
  • Will work within the school as part of a team.
  • Is able to work independently and with initiative.
