Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher to join our Science Department.

USH is a heavily oversubscribed community school with just over 1050 students and 140 staff. We are incredibly proud of our family ethos and our success in delivering values-led education. Science has a strong, cohesive team and we are looking for a driven and team focused scientist to join us. You will be working in an environment using current technologies and equipment, electronic requisition software and cloud based shared resources.

 

The department has 7 classrooms; all teachers have their own classroom equipped with wireless projection and smart TVs. There is a dedicated air conditioned staffroom and workspace for the department, located close to our highly specialised and experienced technicians. We have a very strong record of student outcomes particularly in separate science where we consistently achieve outstanding results.

The successful candidates will:

  • be highly motivated and demonstrate an ability to learn;
  • be able to support the development of schemes of work within the department;
  • have a clear understanding of pedagogical knowledge in the teaching of Science;
  • be prepared to lead extra-curricular and educational visits.
