Are you a caring and nurturing person? Would you like to make a difference to pupils with Special Educational Needs? We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals.
Oak Lodge School is based on the edge of the New Forest catering for 11-16 year olds with a range of Special Educational Needs. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, enjoyable and caring learning environment for pupils to learn skills for life and prepare them well for adulthood.
At Oak Lodge we value the important role our Teaching Assistants play in supporting the education of our pupils.
We have small classes of between 7 and 12, well-mannered pupils and your role would be working closely with the class team and Pastoral Department to support the needs of the students. As a caring adult you will form strong nurturing relationships and understand the needs of the pupils, which will impact upon their achievements and self-esteem. You will help our pupils through their educational challenges, giving positive encouragement and guidance.
You will need to have GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English and experience of working with SEN pupils would be an advantage but not essential.
