Teaching Assistant

Job Introduction

Part Time Teaching Assistant Required 

Hours: 26 hours per week between the hours of 8:30am – 3:30pm (term-time only) with flexibility to do additional hours if or when required by the school.

Salary: HCC Support Staff Grade B:  £24,027 – FTE - equivalent to £12.45 per hour 

Starting Date:   September 2025

Closing date:  Monday 19th May 2025 (noon)


We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and understanding Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join our strong, highly committed team in Year 2.  Previous experience of working with young children is essential. This post will be to support teachers in the delivery of the KS1 curriculum.

 

The successful applicant will:

  • Have recent experience of working with young children, in Key Stage 1.
  • Relevant qualifications NVQ (QCF) Level 2 or above or equivalent. 
  • Good working knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
  • Committed to supporting and motivating all children to achieve their best.
  • Have high expectations for both self and pupils. 
  • Have proven literacy and numeracy skills and be computer literate.
  • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to use own initiative but also work collaboratively as part of a team.
