We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and committed Welfare Assistant to join our excellent Learning Support and Admin Team to make a real difference to our children.
About the Role: As a Welfare Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students. You will be responsible for providing first-aid support, administering medication, and offering pastoral care. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, liaising with medical professionals, and supporting students with their welfare needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- First Aid & Medical Support – Assess and administer first aid to students and staff, referring cases for further treatment if necessary.
- Welfare Support – Ensure students have access to pastoral care and provide relevant welfare information.
- Medication Administration – Manage and administer approved medication in accordance with prescribed courses and parental consent.
- Record Keeping & Administration – Maintain accurate medical records, accident reports, and liaise with external medical agencies.
The ideal candidate will have:
✔ A First Aid qualification and experience in providing medical support.
✔ Experience working with young people in an educational or care setting.
✔ Strong communication and people skills with the ability to offer sensitivity and support.
✔ The ability to act calmly and practically under pressure.
✔ A commitment to confidentiality and student welfare.
✔ Basic IT and record-keeping skills.
