Our friendly and inclusive primary school is seeking an enthusiastic, organised and professional Admin Assistant to join our dedicated team.
As the first point of contact for our children, parents, staff, governors and visitors, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school. The school office sits at the heart of our community, and this varied and rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the lives of our children and families every day.
We are looking for an individual who is highly organised, adaptable and committed. The successful candidate will share our commitment to safeguarding, supporting pupil welfare and promoting excellent attendance, helping to ensure that every child feels safe, supported and able to thrive.
The successful candidate will:
- Be efficient, well organised, flexible and able to work under pressure in a busy office environment.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build positive relationships with our children, parents and visitors to the school, both in person, by email and on the telephone providing a friendly welcome for all
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism and discretion.
- Be proactive, resourceful and able to use their own initiative.
- Be able to work closely within a team and build up good relationships with staff and governors
- Have strong ICT skills and preferably have experience of school office systems such as Arbor and school websites
Duties will include:
- Supporting the school's safeguarding procedures, including visitor management, administration of safeguarding records and adherence to security protocols.
- Monitoring daily attendance, following up pupil absences in line with school procedures and maintaining accurate attendance records.
- Producing attendance reports and supporting school leaders in promoting high levels of attendance and punctuality.
- Responding to enquiries from parents, visitors and external agencies by telephone, email and in person.
- Maintaining accurate pupil records and administrative systems, including admissions and statutory reporting requirements.
- Providing welfare support for pupils, including administering first aid and prescribed medicines, following school policies and procedures.
- Managing school diaries, appointments and meeting arrangements.
- Support Lunchtimes.
- Undertaking a range of administrative duties as directed by the Admin Officer and Headteacher.
