Job Introduction
We are looking for an experienced Admin Assistant, ideally someone with previous experience of working within schools. However, training will be provided alongside a hand over period with our existing member of staff who will be going on maternity leave.
As the first point of call for visitors and enquiries made to the school, you will need to be welcoming, cheerful and have the capacity to communicate effectively with staff, parents and children. You should posses good computer skills, and be organised and efficient with meticulous attention to detail. You will be joining a team of two other Admin Assistants and a School Business Manager and your key areas of responsibility will be:
- managing school admissions
- keeping the school's MIS system, Arbor, up to date including census and data returns
- to create and administer parents evening appointments within Arbor
- to update the school website
- to create and circulate school newsletters and weekly bulletins
- to provide first aid and welfare support as required
The successful candidate will:
- have excellent administration, communication and organisational skills
- have good IT skills, particularly MS Office Packages (Word and Excel)
- experience with school MIS systems would be desirable but training can be provided
- have knowledge of safeguarding children within an educational context
- be a good communicator
- be able to respect confidentiality and understand safeguarding procedures
- be able to work efficiently and use their own initiative to solve work related problems
- have good attention to detail
- be resilient, resourceful and able to think on their feet
- support the school's ethos and values
- hold a valid first aid training qualification or be prepared to undergo first aid training
