Admin Officer

Job Introduction

We are looking to appoint an experienced school Administration Officer to join our supportive  team. We are seeking to appoint someone who is professional, dependable, flexible and hard working to meet the needs of our school operation. The right candidate will be efficient, highly professional and committed  to providing excellent customer service to the school team and all stakeholders. We are looking for someone who strives for high standards of themselves and others, who is efficient and effective in  assisting the school to achieve its daily and strategic goals for the benefit of the children.  

The successful applicant will:

  • Enjoy working with children in a large school environment and understand that the children are central to all decision making and upon which your role has an impact
  • Have a passion for ensuring the wellbeing of children and staff including applying first aid and medical needs
  • Be committed to safeguarding and protecting children
  • Have sustained, successful and demonstrable experience of working in administration and possess the associated skills
  • Have particular expertise and experience of Human Resources / Personnel
  • Have particular expertise in managing Safer recruitment and the SCR (School Central register) as part of safeguarding, confident in transactional personnel processes (recruitment, onboarding / offboarding, payroll input, absence and leave, contracts management, compliance and reporting, training)
  • Have experience of Hampshire County Council’s systems and administration processes
  • Be highly proficient in the use of information technology to achieve responsibilities of the role
  • Be able to manage, prioritise and meet deadlines and be able to multitask
  • Be strategic and analytical
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment and as part of a team
  • Be proactive and responsible for a range of operational elements of our operations
  • Be able to work effectively as a team member, under direction and also independently
  • Be approachable, confident, respectful and credible and exude high standards
  • Be supportive to the school team and all stakeholders, committed to working collaboratively
  • Be intuitive, caring and maintain high regard for confidentiality at all times
  • Be a calm, effective communicator, confident in liaising with all colleagues, children, parents and outside agencies to further our caring ethos, even when under pressure
  • Have excellent written, verbal and mathematical skills
  • Be keen to use initiative and thrive on a ‘can do’, positive approach
  • Be solutions focused and tenacious in your approach
  • Be able to deal with a wide range of people confidence sensitivity.

You will work alongside all of the Senior Leadership Team, the Finance Assistant, Administration Assistant and line managed by the School Business Manager.
