Job Introduction
Wherwell Primary School is seeking to appoint a receptionist/administrative officer to join our friendly and happy school. The position is part-time, ideally 8.30am to 2pm, Monday - Friday, term time only, but this could be negotiable at interview.
We are a 5-class, rural, primary school located in a picturesque village outside Andover, and serving the surrounding communities. We are a successful school (judged Good by Ofsted 2023) and currently have 135 children on roll.
The successful candidate will be hard working, flexible and will enjoy working collaboratively in a friendly and supportive environment where the goal is to secure the best possible outcomes for children.
As the first point of contact for parents, visitors, pupils and members of staff, you will be confident in delivering a high level of customer service. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and a professional warm approach.
Ideally you will have previous administrative experience but this is not essential. You will have excellent written and oral communications skills and be proficient in all Microsoft office programmes. The role would suit an enthusiastic individual who is able to multi-task, willing to learn and develop, and who is flexible and adaptable in their approach.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Able to communicate effectively with all staff, students and parents
- Willing to work as part of a team and make every effort to maintain our school values
- Committed to the safeguarding of students
- Motivated, organised and has a friendly, positive and calm approach
- Confident to administer first aid (training will be provided)
- Able to work under pressure and deal with confidential matters
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office
- Able to undertake training as required.
